The Logistics Agent will be responsible for working with various business units to efficiently route the service and delivery personnel to provide the highest level of service to the business unit customers.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Build daily routes using the Company’s current routing/optimization systems.
  • Generate reports as directed.
  • Prepare monthly truck mileage reports.
  • Export data into Microsoft Excel and format for presentation.
  • Work closely with assigned business units to ensure any issues are communicated quickly to the responsible parties.
  • Assist with systems training as needed.
  • Work directly with business units to make any daily adjustments to routes.
  • Ensure any requested information regarding Logistics operations (purchase orders, inventory, equipment, etc.) is provided accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Work with business units to provide any necessary information they need to perform service or make deliveries (directions, order information, prices, etc.).
  • Maintain good working relationship with all employees
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Know and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain timely and professional communication with management, employees, vendors and customers. Keep supervisor informed of any problems and/or any issues that need attention.
  • Follow posted work schedule, and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.  Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must have computer knowledge and familiar with Microsoft Office products.  Knowledge of JD Edwards’s programs preferred.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to train others and run regional user group meetings
  • Some travel required
  • 1-3 year’s comparable experience preferred
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of good workflow principles.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate with customers, coworkers, and supervisors
